This week the IMRG is soft-launching its latest initiative – the Internet Delivery Is Safe Gold standard, aka IDIS Gold.
In a press release the IMRG says:
“Across 6 different ‘delivery failure’ scenarios we have been able to calculate the cost of ‘inefficient delivery’ to the three main stakeholders groups to be between £790 million and £1 billion per annum – at least £0.70 for EVERY parcel dispatched.”
The IDIS Gold Standard is designed to help retailers raise standards and build confidence in online delivery. At CraftyClicks we are very excited about the new IDIS Gold standard as we think it will be a positive step for e-commerce in general and encourage more consumers to shop online. We fully support the new initiative and have joined the list of IDIS Gold suppliers listing.
A successful delivery starts with the correct address. Get the address wrong and the delivery will fail. We think that the IDIS Gold criteria should go a step further and include a requirement for the merchant to take responsibility for capturing correct address information.
Our web-service is widely used to make it easier for a shopper to enter a full and correct address quickly and efficiently. We think that our postcode lookup will perfectly complement the efforts of any retailer to achieve IDIS Gold accreditation.
