As the year draws to a close, we have been looking at our figures - 2010 was another record year for us. CraftyClicks defied the prevailing economic downturn and grew by over 300% in one year.
What makes our growth story even more remarkable is that the market we operate in did not grow last year. Royal Mail revenues from the Postcode Address File have remained static over the last two years at around £24m per year. Given the economic climate, lack of growth in the address management market as a whole is not surprising.
As the recession continues, budgets come under pressure and more attention is given to getting the best value out of every pound. We are the lowest cost postcode lookup supplier and have benefited from companies shopping around for the best price and switching to us from our competitors.
The beauty of the postcode lookup market in the UK is that there is only one credible source for the data - the Royal Mail Postcode Address File, or PAF as it is commonly known. This means that the actual address data is really the same no matter which PAF reseller you buy from. Switching costs are nearly zero, so there has to be a compelling reason to pay a premium.
Based on a quick survey among our clients, the key deciding factors in selecting a postcode lookup supplier are:
At CraftyClicks we have big, green ticks in all four boxes. Our hosted web service has got a 100% uptime record, and service availability is always our top priority.
We have choice of APIs and a constantly growing list of ready made integrations. Our web service can be plugged into any system in a matter of minutes. In cases where some custom integration work is needed, we often do it for our clients free of charge.
Our customer support is second to none and we often get told so by our clients!
And if that was not enough, our prices are the lowest in the market.
As we look forward to promising New Year ahead, we want to thank all our clients for their support in 2010 and wish everyone a fantastic festive season!
